a crafty kind of weekend.

The cool thing about being crafty is that you can unwind and feel productive at the same time. With a couple days to myself, I attacked a corner of the house that has been shouting at me for some time. Recovering a wing chair is, well, more expensive than a wing chair. I determined that slip covers just don't work well. And right before I gave up, a light bulb went off on something I'd seen weeks ago on Pinterest. And let me be the one to tell you, my friends, fabric spray paint WORKS!

Before.

After.

Close up of my "new" side table. I love that I had everything I needed already in my basement. And I love birds now. And I love that the 'ol wax candle trick actually works to give an antiqued finish... with spray paint. And I love that Michael's always has those cute little frames in their $1 section.

For being so easy, this lamp brings me much joy.
[Lamp stand: Goodwill + spray paint. Shade: Target. Appliques: Michael's.]
